It is widely acknowledged that being a therapist is both fulfilling and demanding. However, without proper self-care, we may find ourselves susceptible to burnout. Often, we prioritize the well-being of others and overlook our own. Additionally, we may underestimate the impact our clients have on us. This is a chance to not only gain knowledge but also prioritize self-nurturing.
Wellness Counseling Inc. has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7559 . Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Wellness Counseling Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Wellness Counseling Inc. has courses that are also Co-Sponsored by CE Classes. Those training and CE’s provided are clearly indicated on course/training information.
Learning Experiences
Immerse yourself in an enriching experience with our Vicarious Trauma CE Program or Treating Couples with EMDR CE Prograum at the exquisite Palmaïa – The House of AïA in Riviera Maya. Our programs will feature experiential exercises focused on self-care. Indulge in a 5-night, all-inclusive stay amidst the stunning backdrop of a beachfront resort offering high-quality meals, drinks, and snacks. Accommodations cater to diverse preferences, ranging from single rooms to family-friendly spaces. Palmaïa’s unique location, nestled between a pristine white sand beach and cool-water cenotes at the edge of the untouched jungle, sets the stage for thoughtful programming that encourages exploration beyond your comfort zones.
The Architects of Life program, guided by the resident Shaman, presents personal growth practices such as cacao ceremonies, yoga, multi-vibrational sound healing, meditation, plant ceremonies, and ancient rituals. Dive into the Rituals of Sound program, where experimental musicians weave deep beats and deep-fusion electronic music with acoustic overlays, offering a sensory journey like no other. Palmaïa ensures a holistic experience with a Waldorf-inspired Child’s Center, catering to families who choose to bring their children along. Please note that travel and flights are not included, and transportation to/from the airport, along with optional activities, may be arranged at additional costs.

We will be offering an in-person EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training Therapist Retreat in Bainbridge Island, WA at Dayaalu Center. There is an option to attend virtually as well. As you may already know EMDR Basic Training is incredibly valuable, but also can bring up a lot for individuals attending. Some experience overwhelm, exhaustion or even being triggered. Attend our training, and you will be able to experience self-care and grounding activities that are also applicable to clients that you work with when doing EMDR. You won’t have to process or recover from EMDR Basic Training on your own! Aside from the training you will also participate in yoga, meditation, art, and other self-care activities. But most importantly experience peace and calm and community with others attending the training. *Please note that attendees are responsible for their own accommodations and meals.*
